Estimations of Crop Losses Due to Flood Using Multiple Sources of Information and Models: The Case Study of the Panaro River

Floods and droughts are the events that most threaten crop production; however, impact of floods on crops is still not fully understood often under-reported. Nowadays, multiple sources information approaches support estimation agricultural losses due to floods. This study aims understand differences in loss estimates provided by two conceptually different (crop models expert-based models), evaluating their sensitivity flood hazard inputs. We investigated challenges assessments referring a case for which, addition model simulations, from surveys on-site inspections were available. Two (APSIM WOFOST) AGRIDE-c applied evaluate yield after event Panaro River (Emilia-Romagna, Northern Italy) took place 6 December 2020. modelling tools used reproduce event: hydraulic HEC-RAS image-based tool FwDET.
